I have it on good authority that jail inmates are into romance novels. I'd always heard prisoners read romance novels, but I just thought it might be because they didn't have a lot of choices. However, today I spoke with someone who has some experience being in the joint who said these guys prefer romances to other genres. It's the closest they'll get to being with a woman so, well, it makes sense when you think about it. Possibly perverted sense, but still. You know. Anyway, I just thought that was interesting that these 300 pound criminals (as described to me by the authority I mentioned) would try to hide these books when visited by a fellow inmate. Kind of cute when you think about it.
