I'm Baaaack!

*Stretches and yawns*

Wow, that was one loooong sabbatical. Those of you who remember me must have thought I'd either died or quit writing. To tell you the truth, I think I would die if I stopped writing. It's too deep in my blood for me to quit.

My last post was nearly 2 years ago. o_O Yep, that's right, 2 years. September of 2009. The good news is that in September of 2011 you'll be seeing... wait for it...

KNIGHT'S CURSE in print! Woot! Harlequin Luna is publishing this book and it's sequel, DARKEST KNIGHT, which will be out next spring.

I won't bore you with minutia of what I'd been up to before this awesome book deal changed my life. Suffice to say the shattered economy beat me bloody, I lost nearly all my design clients, I became depressed, and I pretty much withdrew from the world. Then in August of 2010 my agent calls me with the best news ever. Luna offered me a 2-book deal.

So right after that wonderful news, it was obvious I had to get a proposal ready for the 2nd as-yet unwritten and untitled book for what I hope will be a lasting series. Luna wants book 2 to come out 6 months after the first book, so I've been in a tail spin to get that done. Finished writing it last week. I should be seeing the cover proof for DARKEST KNIGHT any day now, and I can't wait to share it with you all.

My editor at Luna is Ann Leslie Tuttle, who is just wonderful. I hope to interview her on this blog soon so you all will get to meet her. I'm also planning to interview my awesome agent, Elizabeth Winick Rubenstein, for the blog. She's a literary agent with McIntosh & Otis, one of the oldest literary agencies in New York.

I also plan to feature a few authors here, and run some contests, maybe do a couple of writing workshops the way I have in the past (however, those tend to be huge time-sucks, so I haven't planned that far ahead.)

I have a new website that's close to being finished, I just need to add the links and the book excerpts, for which I'm now waiting to get the okay from Harlequin.

I'll try to post to this blog a couple of times a week, but I'll be participating on other blogs soon and doing some guest blogs as the release date for KNIGHT'S CURSE gets closer. I will be writing the proposal for book 3 after my agent and I chat about some ideas. Liz is really great for brainstorming.

It's so good to be back! :)

Glad that you're back. You are one tough lady. Navy SEALs are nothing compared to us writers.
