Marketing Monday

At some point I'm going to have to change Monday's theme. The weekly updates are getting boring because responses to queries are coming in slow, or they're not coming at all. It's so annoying to be ignored.

The rejection I got last week on a partial was from an agent with the exact opposite reaction of the one who had rejected me the week before. It just proves what a subjective business this is. I was sort of expecting a "no" from this last agent because she represents mostly romance. She has no UF clients yet. She thought Chalice was "odd." And yeah, Chalice is a bit odd, but that's one of my favorite things about her! 8^)

I got another request for a partial, this one from Jack Byrne of Sternig and Byrne. So keep your fingers crossed for me!

I may send out a few more queries this week. I'm really hoping for a full manuscript request at some point. This process is so dang slow. And I'm itching to start writing the next book in the series, but I'm forcing myself to hold off. So instead I've decided to write a short story to submit to Silhouette Nocturne. I've got a few ideas brewing.

Good luck with Jack. He's local and I had tried Jack about a year ago. He looked at my piece because I was local. Ultimately he rejected it, but I think I've had several "epiphanies" as it were over my first chapter since then and how to introduce my character and the world. I wonder if I should sent it to him again.

*hugs* for the rejection , and fingers crossed for Jack ;) and Chalice isn't that odd, she's actually very *human* even though she's not quite *g*

I'm still cutting/editing,(almost there *sigh*) as my wonderful, lovely editor gave me an extra couple of days! Yay!
