Boo! Do you believe in ghosts?

In the spirit of Halloween, I'd like to share an authentic ghost photo a friend of mine took several years ago in Central City, Colorado. She was with a tour of people down in one of the mines and just taking random pictures with her instant camera. This was before the days of digital. She hadn't seen anything unusual while taking the pictures, but once she got the prints back, whoa.

Check it out:

Is that creepy or what? Gives me goosebumps every time I see it. The ghost looks like he's melting. Maybe there had been a fire in the mine. My friend checked into the mine's history to see if there had been any accidents there, but there was nothing on record she could find. Fascinating.

This is a great writing prompt for a ghost story.

Have a happy screamy Halloweeny!

That is spooky! And sets the writer's mind to moving at warp speed with possibilities!

What a great photo! Thank you for sharing. I tend to get pretty spooked by real ghost stories (I prefer my terror fictional), but this is a really interesting photo. I've already written half the book in my mind!

That... is scary. I am so happy I have not (as far as I know) taken pictures like that!

Wow--cool shot! Creepy! :-]

And, yes, I believe in ghosts, though the only ones I've seen (that I know...) were my two dead dogs: http://fpdorchakrealitycheck.wordpress.com/2012/01/30/dog-gone/

Hi Karen
That is scary. Love the artwork.

I have ghostly experience. That sounds creepier than it really is.

Very cool picture. I havent' been in a mine in a very long time, but I remember the feeling of the earth pressing down. I used to love going up to Central City. Love your new site, great pictures!
