Thursday Thoughts

Just a couple of thoughts for today, nothing earth shattering.

First, a rant about cell phones. I just upgraded my phone to a newer model of what I had before. Pretty basic, but this one has the camera feature that's so popular these days. I knew the moment UPS delivered it that it wouldn't be an easy switch. I was right. I had a heck of a time getting the damn thing to work, and not because I'm a technotard, which admittedly I am, but because the Sprint folks are all smoking crack. It took 4 tech support people to do what they had to do on their end to make the phone work. After 4 hours of wasted morning time that I could have spent working, my new phone is now usable. Oh, and after they got the number switched to the new phone, they said I could have had my contacts list automatically transferred if I wanted. Yeah, I wanted. But now it's too late. I've never had an easy time with Sprint, and it's not getting any easier.

On a happier note, I thought I should mention my fabulous Paranormal Mystery Writers YahooGroup. I started this group in February of 2002 because I wanted to communicagte with other writers and readers who loved the genre as much as I do. PM was what UF is now, but I'm keeping the name as is. So if you love urban fantasy and paranormal mystery, you've got to join my group and talk with fellow writers Jeanne Stein, Robin Owens, Jenna Black, C.E. Murphy, Mark Henry, and many others. We're 400 strong now, but there's always room for more. If you're interested, send a blank email to Paranormal_Mystery-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

y'know, that CE Murphy person should remember to post to the list and mention HOUSE OF CARDS is out. Sigh.

New phones! I feel your pain *sigh* My old one died, and while my new one wasn't quite such a traumatic experience - why can't they just upload themselves, so I don't have to spend so much time trying to figure out how it works! Arrgghh

And the laptop died too - it had applied for retirment some time ago, but I told it no, it had to go on for much, much longer... *BIG SIGH* so that's more tech (and expense!) to work out ...

But will come and join you at PM ;)
